PARIS FASHION WEEK: HAUTE COUTURE S/S 2015

This may be the time of the quarter where many of us want to roll out of bed (or Powell) in our PJs, rock a messy hair bun, and call it a day. But 6000 miles away from us, it is a very different story. In the City of Lights and Love and simply all things glamorous (you may call me biased because I studied abroad there), your favorite fashion houses showcased their Spring/Summer 2015 Haute Couture collections. Drawing inspirations from across time and space - Russian folklore, the city of Beirut, the psychedelic 60s and 70s and so much more - the biggest names in fashion certainly WOW-ed us this week. In light of the recent ordeal that Paris and its people experienced, these stunning runway shows remind us of the beauty, creativity and strength that the city stands for. Here is a quick glimpse of some looks from Chanel, Christian Dior, Elie Saab and Valentino. Let me know what your favorite pieces are!

Chanel

"The new cleavage is the stomach."
- Karl Lagerfeld

Christian Dior

“Periods of time are conflated...There is a sense of the romance of the 50s, with the experimentation of the 60s and the liberation of the 70sin the collection.”
- Raf Simons

Elie Saab

"Back then, Beirut seemed to be constantly adorned for a party that would never end."
- Elie Saab

Valentino

"In some ways, you are flying when you are in love."
Maria Grazia Chiuri
