PUT SOME PEP IN YOUR STEP

- Marilyn Monroe

Sun shining, breeze blowing, and flowers flourishing - Spring has finally made its graceful entrance. The campus always feels especially alive during this time of year. The beautiful weather also tends to bring out the most fashionable and hippest of items from everyone's closets - the sundress, the graphic tees, the trendy shades that Christine talked about in Tuesday's post...but we certainly can't forget about the shoes!
I myself am a huge shoe fanatic, who believes that shoes can make or break any outfit. Shoes also determine - quite literally - how we carry ourselves, but perhaps most importantly, shoes are fun! Just take a look at the Spring / Summer 2015 fashion shows. Models strutted down the runways with everything from futuristic pumps to blast-from-the-past gladiators. Why not give all these styles a try this season?

1) Gladiators

Nothing screams spring and summer like a good pair of gladiators. Learn from the French fashion house ChloƩ who kept it light and playful with their white flowy dresses and nude gladiators. That's a winning look right there. If nude is not so much your color, opt for classic black - it's edgy and versatile.

2) Fun flats

I always go for flats when I want to give an air of class to my look but still stay comfy. These GILLIGAN flats by Stuart Weitzman are absolutely precious. A little twist on the ballet flat and adorned with lace-up details, these shoes are just the thing you need for that Parisienne feel. Pair them with an A-line midi skirt and you will be ready to pirouette.

3) Pumps that pop

What is Spring without some beautiful, bright pumps? As exhibited in this Alexander Wang Spring 2015 ensemble, a pair of fun and colorful heels can give a simple outfit an element of surprise plus an instant lift. If you are like me, who really don't have much color in the closet, this is the season for us to venture out of our comfort zone and take a little risk. A pop of color never hurts anyone.
